Deborah Wuehler - Director of Production
Deborah Wuehler is the Senior Editor and Director of Production here at The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine. She started as our Devotional Editor nearly 10 years ago and has loved every day of her time here. She would say she is a very ordinary homeschool mom–with one exception: she has an extra-ordinary God Who provides all she needs for life and homeschooling. She has eight children aged 4 to 21: several ordinary children, a few gifted, a couple of struggling learners, and one special needs child. Her house is messy unless someone is coming over, her boys can be loud, and not all of her girls wear dresses. She is a leader of her local homeschool group and prays constantly for the right balance of priorities. Deborah’s mission is this: “To point other homeschoolers to the Lord in all they do, think, and feel and to confirm that they, too, can find everything they need for life, godliness–and homeschooling–in their knowledge of Him. (2 Peter 1:3, 4)”
Donna Rees - Managing Editor
Donna Rees is the Managing Editor of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine. She and her husband Timus homeschooled their two (now adult) children from 1983-1999 and . . . would do it again in a heartbeat! Donna loves to grow in the grace and knowledge of her Lord, Jesus Christ; take long walks on sunny days; enjoy her sweet family; and eat chocolate of any kind, any time. Donna says: “Through TOS, the Lord has given me the privilege of coming alongside homeschooling families as they carry out their God-given responsibility to train, guide, protect, and educate their children. What a delight it is to serve, encourage, and equip others to do the same for the glory of God.”
David Borrink - Senior Designer of TOS Magazine
David Borrink designs The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine and has been part of TOS for three years. He met his wife, Sallie, online, and 15 years later they are still best friends. David and Sallie started their homeschooling journey this year when their only daughter, Caroline, started kindergarten. David has worked in graphic design for more than 25 years, starting in the corporate setting and then for the past 11 years in his own home business, Arts & Letters, which he runs with Sallie. David likes to spend time with his wife and daughter, read historical biographies, collect old road maps, drink cinnamon dolce lattes, and play with his daughter and her vast collection of stuffed animals. David says his mission at TOS “is to make everyone look good. I want my design and work ethic to glorify Christ so that everyone is promoted and encouraged, whether it be the authors, staff, or the reader. It’s all about them.”
Liz Koon - Assistant to the Publisher
Liz Koon is assistant to the publisher & E-Book project manager at TOS. Liz and her husband Craig have been married 28 years and have three children and two grandchildren. They have homeschooled since 1994 and have graduated two students – one to go. Liz and her family recently moved to the front range in Colorado to be near the grandkids (and enjoy the nicer weather). If Liz had any free time, she would spend more time playing with the grandkids, taking long walks, creating flower crafts, and catching up on her reading. Liz’s mission at TOS is to help homeschool moms realize that “yes, they can homeschool. And that homeschooling isn’t nearly as complicated as it appears to be-if you allow God to be in charge of your homeschool.”

She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Indiana University and is a former newspaper editor and general manager. She left her career 13 years ago to raise her three grandchildren, Dustin, 16, Destiny, 14, (who recently left to live with her mother), and Dallas 13. Vicki lives in Louisville, KY, with her husband, Ed, an over-the-road truck driver, both boys, and their cat, Katie.
