We Love Math is a CD and book set. The CD includes 70 minutes of music, with each of the 27 songs focusing on a basic math concept. This program is designed to connect math to literacy. The first section of the book contains all the song lyrics, so you and your child can follow along while listening to the CD. The second section of the book contains teaching ideas, worksheets, and mini-books related to the concepts being taught. Permission is given to photocopy these pages, so this book can be used year after year, child after child.
We Love Math is written for grades pre-K through 2. It covers patterns, numbers to 100, addition, subtraction, fractions, and many more concepts. Though it is not specifically marketed to homeschoolers, this product would be a great supplement to any early elementary math curriculum. It definitely reinforces math concepts, and because there is music involved, it is a perfect fit for auditory learners.
I really like this product! The songs are a lot of fun and really help to reinforce the concepts being taught. The mini-books are a great companion to the songs and allow room for some creativity. My 6-year-old enjoys them.
This program is very affordable at $19.99. This is the second "Miss Jenny and Friends" product that I have reviewed. I like her approach to teaching and reinforcing basic concepts, and I would consider purchasing other products by her in the future.
