This is the sequel to The Road to Home by this great new Christian novelist. Ms. Del Fabbro, a native of South Africa, gives an insider view of the country after apartheid was outlawed.
Two years have passed since the first novel. It is now the year 2000, and while the violence has abated somewhat, the leading cause of death in South Africa is still murder. Monica, the young journalist, forms a partnership with her Zulu housekeeper, Francina, to raise two young, black, orphaned boys. They move to an integrated town where Monica becomes the local newspaper editor. This book explores more of Francina's background and thoughts as she works through some issues in her past while getting used to integration as well.
I would recommend this book. While it is a novel, it is realistic in its picturesque setting and is an inspiring story of gradual change and Christian love being shown and lived out,
