Geared toward grades K-5, 6 Writing Traits covers Ideas & Content, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Fluency, and Conventions. Song titles include "Choose A Big Idea," "Main Idea . . . Wrap it Up," "Pronouns," and "Write with Writer Rhino"--27 in all and over 70 minutes of music.
The workbook integrates the eight parts of speech into the writing curriculum and gives children wonderful tips for brainstorming, polishing their writing, and making writing FUN. It's a great little workbook!
My children, who LOVE to learn via songs, did not particularly care for the CD. Some songs went over OK; others got the "eye roll." In my opinion, the songs do not sound professionally produced at all. The words are informative, and there's nothing offensive. We just found that the songs did not appeal to our family.
We found the workbook to far outweigh the CD. For quality, we thought it was super. I would recommend this product for the workbook alone. It's worth the price.
