There is something about crocheting that is so relaxing. My Mom was great at it, but I didn't take the opportunity to learn from her. This book, Single Crochet for Beginners, is like having her at my elbow to teach me all the ins and outs of this fabulous hobby.
The book is so bright and colorful! Bright photos are combined with drawings to take the beginner through choosing yarns and hooks to fun projects. The author writes as if she is speaking directly to you! I love the way she weaves in things she was taught as a beginner, like the "duck's beak" verse to remember how to make the slip knot. (You'll have to get the book to learn it!)
After covering the basics, the author takes us through 26 projects. You will learn how to make potholders, scarves, baby caps, mittens, vests, and more!
I really like this book. I recently picked up crochet again after years of neglect, and I've looked at lots of teaching aids. This one is special. You will gain confidence and skill as you take in all the unique aspects of this comprehensive book.
