There are three types of activities: (1) Cover Up, in which the child uses manipulatives to cover the picture on the page; (2) Imagination, which allows the child to imagine what shapes to use to fit into a particular area, (e.g., shaping a tiger within a forest picture); and (3) Shapes from Shapes, in which the child uses the various shapes to form other shapes. I wouldn't presume that this program was intended just for homeschoolers; however, it would be especially useful for children with developmental disabilities such as Autism, Tourette's Syndrome, or Down Syndrome or for anyone needing to learn eye-to-hand coordination. The book I have comes in Spanish format also--a real advantage for bilingual individuals.

I really like this program very much. I carried it to the homes of several family members and friends and had their children play with it. All of the children (ranging in age from 5 to 13) liked it, and one child with ADD enjoyed it very much. When I first got the program, I remembered using something similar in school in the 70s, and I thought to myself, This is too simple for anyone to learn anything from. But I was wrong! It's quite a challenge to place some of the shapes in the right position to make the picture turn out like it is supposed to. I really do not have anything negative to report on this product. I would spend whatever it cost if I felt it would benefit my children.
