Author Penny Reeve is back with this second installment in the Tania Abbey Adventure series. If you loved the first tale, The
Back Leg of a Goat, you'll be relieved to know that this story picks up right where the previous one left off. This story is packed with more engaging ideas and deep devotion to Christ for your 8 to 12-year-old to be encouraged by.
This story starts out with Tania being invited to attend a huge march for a good cause. At first Tania sees this as the perfect opportunity to receive the praises of her teacher, and that is her sole motivation for joining in. She obtains permission from her parents to join only if she can prove her heart is really for this cause. Now Tania has to think for herself and asks God's help. As she prepares for the march, she realizes just how important the cause is. Discussions with her new friend Emily and other occurrences in her life spark in Tania a passion for helping out. She realizes that participating in this march would help her to love others as she knows God would want her to. Even though she's a little girl, she sees that she can make a difference in the world.
Penny Reeve has done it again! This story hits home for children who are just coming into their own. They want to know if they can do anything, or do they have to stand back and let the grown-ups do it. The story is engaging, and I loved how the author included Tania's vibrant faith and relationship with Jesus. This is a wonderful look inside the life of a Christian little girl. Tania gets direction from her parents and from her God. It's just beautiful. Your 8 to 12-year-old will enjoy this story.
