My French Number and Counting Book is a resource for children learning the French language. There are 22 pages, with most of them being coloring pages. Each page is bilingual, as is the table of contents, which makes for easier navigation. The pages include an illustration of the word, a pronunciation guide, the number symbol, and the number spelled out. There are two sets of lines under the words and picture for your child to practice writing the word in French. Your child will see all the information necessary for understanding the words being written.
This resource is perfect for homeschoolers learning French as a second language or for an introduction to foreign languages. The pages are not intimidating, and the illustrations help children see that learning a new language is fun. Children will learn that there are other people on this planet who are different from them. Hopefully, they'll gain a great appreciation for francophones. Teachers will love the ease with which they can use this resource. There's not much preparation involved because everything is so easily laid out.
When we use this resource in our homeschool, we will go through one number a day and continuously review the ones we've already learned so that the numbers will stay fresh in our children's minds. I have no doubt they'll be able to learn all the numbers. The main thing I love about this resource is that it goes from 1 to 20. Most children's French books teach only 1-10.
This book would be a wonderful addition to your homeschooling library--especially if you're teaching your children French, as I am. You'll be very thankful Kelly Wilhelm took the trouble to create My
French Number and Counting Book.
