This kit contains four Elementary Report Cards, one Cumulative Transcript Folder, and one Official Request for Records Form (from former schools).
The report cards are printed on heavy card stock and are very attractive. There is a section for Academic Progress and a section for Character Development. They are divided into four grading periods for the year. The back of the report card provides a form for parents to sign when the grade level is successfully completed. These would be great for showing your report card at restaurants that offer incentives or rewards for good grades.
The Cumulative Transcript Folder is card stock and folded like a standard file folder. It has blocks for each grade, grades 1-12. The tab at the top says "Home School Cumulative Record" and has a space for the child's name. The front of the folder has pertinent identifying information (DOB, Address, Parents' names, etc.) and a School History list. There is also a place for a recent photo. Inside and on the back are the blocks for the various school years, a testing record, a record of extracurricular activities, and a block for graduation data.
The request for records form is a letter to be filled out to send to a former school to request copies of their records. This would be needed by those whose children previously attended public or Christian schools and are now being homeschooled.
This product would be very helpful for record keeping in those states that require records to be available upon request. Moreover, this is an excellent way to keep track of your child's academic progress and to have a comprehensive view of all your child has accomplished.
I am very pleased with this product and am transferring all my previous records to it. I would recommend that all homeschool families use some kind of formal recordkeeping, and this would be a valuable tool to accomplish that.
