All-in-One Bible Fun is a complete Sunday school curriculum in one book for just $10.00. There are four books in the series, Stories
of Jesus, Favorite Bible Stories, Fruits of
the Spirit, and Heroes of the Bible. (Heroes
of the Bible is scheduled to be released in May 2010.) There is a separate book for preschool and elementary children for each title, both following the same format. This review is for Stories
of Jesus for preschool children and Stories of Jesus for elementary children.
This curriculum is intended for Sunday Schools, but I was able to easily adapt it for my homeschool. Each of the 13 lessons has background information on the Bible story to be taught, activities, crafts, the bible story, songs, and prayer. At the beginning of each lesson is a chart listing all of the activities for the lesson, how long they will take, and what supplies may be needed. If you were to do everything listed, it would take about seventy minutes; so they have cleverly listed the activities that they recommend in bold print on the chart.
The activities are easily implemented, with simple supplies for the crafts and reproducibles included at the end of each lesson. The lessons in the preschool book and the elementary book have the same themes; however, the activities are different. This curriculum is so easy to follow that I was able to do the same lesson with my preschool-age son as with my two older elementary-age children. It was nice to be able to teach the same lesson with all of them and then have age-appropriate activities.
Each lesson starts with a craft or activity to familiarize your child with the theme. For the first lesson, "In the Stable," your preschool children will make a Manger Millinery out of construction paper and the reproducibles provided. Elementary-age children will make a Christmas Creche out of a shoe box and the reproducibles. The songs are very cute and are sung to familiar tunes. For example, "The Animal Song" is sung to the tune of "The Farmer in the Dell." The Bible stories include fun ways of keeping your children involved while listening. In the elementary lesson "In the Stable," the children are taught hand motions for the song. When the Bible story is being read, they sing the song during certain parts and do the hand motions.
I've really enjoyed using this great resource with my children. I have four children and not a lot of time to be using something that isn't all laid out for me. All-in-One
Bible Fun is everything I need in one easy-to-follow book. This has made my life a whole lot easier!
