We Are Different, You and Me is an early-reader storybook written in rhyme. Bear and Frog realize their differences and wonder if it's possible to still be friends with so little in common. Their friendship prevails despite their differences. While playing together, Bear and Frog meet a Crow who is nothing like either of them. They are again challenged with the question of differences. Together the Bear, Frog, and Crow learn that friendship is a choice. They learn that differences don't have to separate friends.
This story is designed for early readers. While early readers would be able to read this story independently, I think younger children could also enjoy it. I would use this book for children ages 2-6.
We Are Different, You and Me is a cute story about acceptance and loving people despite their differences. I think this is an important lesson for children to learn. The story is simple but sweet.
Some of the rhyming seemed a little forced or predictable to me. While the predictability bothered me, my children enjoyed being able to guess the next phrase before it was read. In the long run, I think the book worked for its audience. If you are looking for a simple picture book that your child can read independently, then I recommend checking out this cute little book.
