The Worksheet Lab is a free site where you can get great worksheets for your
child. These worksheets are for preschool and kindergarten. They cover the alphabet,
phonics, numbers, cutting, pre-writing, etc. There are also dot-to-dots, mazes,
coloring sheets, and matching activities.
The company does not yet have a full set of worksheets. In the phonics category, there are only a couple of letters covered so far. I am sure they are working on having sheets for all the letters of the alphabet, and when they have them all posted, this will be an invaluable resource. I generally buy one of those books full of worksheets, but there are never enough for each letter. I have been using the Worksheet
Lab worksheets to supplement what I already had. You just print out what you want. The pages have very nice color pictures, but you can always print them in grayscale in order to save ink; they will be just as effective. Just to give you an idea, there is a worksheet for the letter C that has pictures of an apple, a crayon, a cup, a cookie, a sandal, beads, cake, a coat, and a mitten. The child is to circle the items that start with the C sound. Most of the worksheets in the books I buy only have about four items on the page--three that start with the letter and one that doesn't. You get a lot more mileage out of a worksheet like this one.
Bookmark this site! I predict that you will come back and use it often when planning your curriculum.
