Tweaky and Isaac is the story of Abraham and Isaac that is told in Genesis 22:1-19. Tweaky is a fictional character, a hummingbird that has been added to the story. He is rescued by Isaac, and they become good friends, playing and going on adventures together.

The story tells of the day that Isaac goes with his father to make a sacrifice on the top of a hill. Along the way Isaac realizes that his father has forgotten to bring along an animal for the sacrifice. Tweaky is with them and is alarmed to realize that Abraham intends to sacrifice his own son. However, just before making the sacrifice, Abraham is stopped by an angel, and a ram is provided by God to be sacrificed instead.

It is a nicely done book and teaches children about the importance of faith, sacrifice, and obeying God. In the back of the book are the words and music to a very sweet song that Tweaky sings to Isaac. The one thing I was not terribly impressed with is the fact that the book is written in rhyme, but at times it seems rather awkward and just doesn't flow very well. Also, the picture of Abraham holding a knife over his son might be a bit scary for very young or very sensitive children.
