The scenes clearly convey the thoughts and emotions of the little girl. It's very easy to make up your own words or let your child use his/her imagination to tell the story.

My animal-lover daughter, who prefers playing with stuffed puppies and Barbie horses rather than dolls, loved looking at the pictures of the girl with her new dog, horse, and cat. I enjoyed listening to her giggle as she followed their frolic in the snow.
