This book is for women who want to learn how to live abundantly.
This is a paperback containing about 300 pages, and it contains
advice for reflection on what works in our lives and what doesn't.
If the book of Proverbs came with a study guide for women, this
book might be the one. The author gives practical ways of examining
our lives to create joy and peace and just to be able to enjoy
the life God has given us.
The principles discussed in this book are essentially developing
a close personal relationship with God, arranging to grow in the
Spirit, nurturing relationships (loving and being loved by God),
developing a heart of joy and taking pleasure in your life (thankfulness),
finding God's peace (the opposite of stress), and having hope (even
during the tough times). We can choose to look at situations through
the world's jaded eyes or we can view life's situations through
God's perspective. If we choose to love, forgive, and be thankful
for our lives, God's peace will envelop us.
There are study questions and "practices" throughout the book
to help the individual apply these principles personally. I think
this book would be beneficial to homeschool moms trying to balance
all the elements of their lives, and I also think it would lend
itself to a ladies Bible study group or Sunday School class for
group reflection. This is a very thought-provoking book.
