Our family recently received the I Built It! Jumbo Chess set, and we loved it! This is such a great twist on a classic game. My family has enjoyed hours of fun with this game.

The game is a jumbo-size game of the standard chess game with a few differences. The game board is very nice quality, and the jumbo size of 23 1/2 inches square makes it much easier for the younger kids to use. Perhaps the best part of the game is the jumbo player pieces. One set is black, and the other is white, much like the traditional game. However, these pieces are jumbo size--around 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. The size of the pieces makes them easier for little hands to use. Each piece has another unique feature--a picture holder. You can place whatever kind of picture you would like inside each piece. We chose to allow the girls to cut out favorite pictures from some old magazines we had on hand. The website provides free pictures you can download and cut out as well. All in all, this is a creative and unique way to present the traditional game of chess.
