Littlefingers Early Learning CD is actually four computer
game CDs in one package. It includes Picture Math, Fun with
Charlie, Picture Puzzles, and Little Red Wagon Town. Picture
Math features six different math games related to addition, subtraction,
graphing, patterns, fractions, and shapes. In Fun with Charlie
children can do six different activities that focus on abstract
reasoning skills. Picture Puzzles has six puzzle activities,
including Picture Doku, a preschool version of the popular Sudoku
game. Little Red Wagon Town gives children the opportunity
to practice matching skills, following directions, and color and
shape skills.
I turned my 5-year-old loose with this game, and she had so much
fun. The level of difficulty was perfect for her -- challenging
enough to be interesting but easy enough that she could do
the games herself without frustration. Many of the games she
could figure out on her own. A few required minimal instructions
from me the first time, and then she was able to play on her
own. She especially loved Picture Doku, as Sudoku is a favorite
game with the older people in our house. It made her feel quite
grown up to be able to play her own version. I was very pleased
with the educational value of Littlefingers Early Learning
CD. As many homeschooling parents will understand, I
am always looking for something that will both educate and entertain
my younger children during the time I need to be working one-on-one
with the older children. Littlefingers Early Learning
CD has become one of the tools that fill this need in our
home. This game is perfect for children in the preschool through
early elementary age range.
