Monsters, Mind Your Manners! is a fun rhyming book about a pack of ill-behaved monsters. There are bright and colorful illustrations throughout this 24 page picture book showing the poorly behaved monsters as they invade the home and life of a pair of siblings.

The monsters in Monsters, Mind Your Manners! do lots of rude things, including playing ball in the house, laughing and getting in trouble during class, chewing food with their mouths open, and refusing to hang up their wet bath towels. This list just touches the surface of the monsters' lack of manners. Through all of these behaviors, the siblings stare wide-eyed at the monsters or try to get them to behave, but at the end of the day when the monsters won't go to bed, the polite siblings get a bedtime story from Dad, while the monsters have to miss it.

As the mother of five sons, I often sound like a broken record when it comes to manners. "No running in the house." "Chew with your mouth closed." "Clean up the mess you make." These are phrases that I say often to one boy or another. Monsters, Mind Your Manners! goes through many of the more common impolite behaviors of children, and the end of the story shows that there are incentives (in this case, a good story) for doing the polite thing. Monsters, Mind Your Manners! is a fun book to read and look at, and I highly recommend it to any parents who have "monsters" living in their home.
