Foundational Principles of Good Government is probably
the most unique government course I have ever seen. It teaches
much more than just what the founders of our country did; it teaches
the history behind it. This is most certainly not your typical
politically correct version of American government. Some of the
unit titles are "Types of Government," "Duties and Responsibilities
of Governments," "Duties and Responsibilities of Citizens," "What
the Federal and State Governments Are Prohibited and Why," and
much more. There are nine units in all. This book will teach you
things about government that you never knew before.
There are discussion questions throughout each unit, and the book
is also filled with many direct quotes from the Founders. It also
includes many "strange but true" facts and laws, which was actually
my daughter's favorite part of the book. I feel that this is an
invaluable course for every high schooler, or even for an adult.
It is more than worth its $12 purchase price.
