This resource is an e-book consisting of 85 pages. It reminds
me of the typing textbook I had in high school, but it is updated
for the modern student who has a PC instead of a clunky old typewriter.
It runs through the drills to learn the letters, numbers, and symbols
on the keyboard by touch. Then it goes on to teach formatting and
all sorts of modern tricks on your computer.
This is just the type of resource I have been looking for! My
oldest granddaughter learned to type with typing software that
made it into a game, and she learned how to type fairly well. But
this really offers a more streamlined way to learn typing and teaches
formatting skills at the same time. I intend to focus more on this
book with my younger granddaughter and waive the computer games--at
least until we have the basics down.
The website says this e-book is designed for grades 6 and up and
is priced at $15.95. I believe this would be an excellent resource
for homeschoolers to hone their keyboarding skills.
