This artistic picture book about ravens and rivers in Alaska is
written poetically and illustrated majestically. This book
would make an excellent choice for a read aloud story hour about
nature or seasons. The book includes breathtaking illustrations
of many Alaskan animals, including the bear, beaver, snowshoe hare,
grouse, red squirrel, and wolves. The journey of the raven
takes place across the icy Alaskan wilderness, just as spring is
dawning. Along the way, the raven's unique cry wakes up
a host of sleepy animals, who long for the river to melt so the
change of season will come. This is a lovely book that would
inspire even the most home-bound to begin nature study and enjoying
God's creation outdoors!
