Primarily Plants is a nearly 200-page paperback workbook, accompanied by a supplemental CD, which gives you all the pages in PDF format so you can print pages easily. This is for Grades K-3. It is a study on plants which incorporates hands-on experience with seeds, growing cycles, etc. This program walks the child through the process, and asks questions along the way to get them thinking.

There is even some whimsical poetry, combined with coloring pages to make a little book, and opportunities to do a little math along the way. However, the aspect which provides the most fun is all the experiments, including planting, watching things grow, and making observations about the changes.

This is a totally doable Science program for my first grader, and I am enjoying the process of going through it with her. She is very curious about everything, and this really explains everything in a way that makes a great deal of sense to her. I highly recommend this for homeschoolers who are in need of a good science program for the lower grades.
