Upon receiving a box in the mail marked, Healthy Handfuls, I thought to myself, ?Hmmm, healthy, what exactly does that mean for taste?? Well, I was very happy to discover that it meant a lot of varied great tasting snack foods not only for my children, but for me as well!
Most of the time snack foods are loaded with additives that are not good for our bodies, but we eat them because they are easy and sometimes we need easy when life gets hectic or we are in a hurry. Healthy Handfuls are a different snack all together. They have no hydrogenated oils, no trans fats, no preservatives, no GMOs, low in sodium, certified organic, and are Kosher to boot! The products come in various sizes in boxed (animal-cracker size) form, small pocket-sized bagged form, and large 3 ounce cup size with a lid. Each serves its own purpose and is handy for travel, and is reasonably priced.
The best part about them though, is the taste. We sampled Oatmeal Raisin Crocodile Cookies, Lucky Duckies Cheese Crackers, and Lemon Vanilla Koala Krackers. All of these are products that I would buy again. The cookies were chewy, which I didn?t expect, and were very fresh. Made with organic oats, whole wheat flour, and raisins, they are sweetened with honey and were delicious. The Duckies were very cheesy and crispy without the grease that comes in grocery store brands. They are also made with whole wheat flour, organic cheddar cheese, have only one gram of saturated fat, and five grams of protein per serving! The Lemon Vanilla Krackers were really tasty! I could enjoy these with a cup of tea they were so tangy, but at the same time sweet enough for the children to enjoy as well. They are made with organic whole wheat flour, and sweetened with evaporated cane juice. All of these samples quickly disappeared at my house with my children asking, 'Can we have more, Mama'?
Healthy Handfuls was created by two moms who saw the necessity of healthy snack foods for families on the go. I think their two years of working to perfect the products was worth the time and effort!
