ReadyWriter is a writing 'exercise' program, if you will. It brings us a unique pictorial approach to 'stylus skills' and very beginning penmanship, through daily practice, or what the folks at ReadyWriter refer to as "daily learning vitamins."

ReadyWriter is a 192 page spiral bound book of 16 drills, 12 pages each. This is a nice quality book, with thick paper, which is great for little ones learning to write (and using that eraser!) These 'warm up exercises' start with a very short story, to accompany the worksheet of skills being mastered. These drills are very simple and short, easy to use, and shouldn't take more than 5 minutes or so. Each level can be completed in a different time frame. You may have one child who masters level one in two days, or it may take all 12 worksheets. You don't have to go through each worksheet to complete each level. You, the parent/teacher decide when mastery is achieved.

There is a scripture verse at the bottom of each worksheet, by level, which focuses on the worth of writing, because God has used the written word to communicate to man. These verses, just like each page in the level, have the same verse, which aids in memorization. Upon completion, there are certificates awarded for each level mastered.

ReadyWriter builds mastery skills for printing, builds competence, motor skills and penmanship habits necessary to continue into legible cursive writing. These 'daily learning vitamins' are a great, short warm up and daily practice to ease frustration in legible writing. Although they can appear monotonous, they are a great foundation builder.

A definite recommendation from me - especially for young ones learning to write and just form letters, or children a bit older struggling with frustration in their penmanship.
