J. M. Bedell has written an anthology for young adults about 27 young people throughout world history who have accomplished brave and outstanding feats. These heroes include, for example, Fu Mu-lan (before AD 600) - China's Great warrior to Louis Braille (1809-52) to Terry Fox (1958-1981) to Alexandra Schott (1996 - 2004). This is one of those books that should be on your bookshelf and children should be encouraged to read the short stories of these incredible young people. These true stories are so inspirational and teach so much - what a blessing to share with a child. This is also a great book to read aloud if you're looking for something engaging, thought-provoking, or character building. Our family thoroughly enjoyed Finding Courage and recommend it, without reservation, to other families. It's so important for children to understand that young people can make a difference in the world.
