The Teachers Wish List is a free service for teachers, schools, and homeschoolers, created by two ladies from Illinois who wanted help connect parents, parent organizations, and anonymous donors to help in the educational needs of children by helping furnish the teaching supplies needed. To sign up for this service, all you have to do is go to www.theteacherswishlist.com. After you fill out all your information, you get to make your wish list from the wide variety of educational supplies they offer. Then you can send people here to view your wish list. To view a wish list, go to Wish List Search on the left-hand side of the page and type in the school name and state or the person's email address. After you locate the wish list you are searching for, you can view it as well as order the items online and have them sent to the address listed for that wish list.
I liked having the wish list because instead of my family asking what I needed for the children, I gave them all a note with the website and our wish list name. This saved them time and helped us get supplies for our homeschool. Another benefit of registering with Teachers Wish List is that as long as your list is active and kept updated, you are automatically entered into the drawings that they have for FREE stuff. I won a drawing and received products from the StikkiWorks Company, which included StikkiWax (the sticky stuff you put on the back of posters to hang on the wall), two packages of Magnetic Marker Rings, Stikkihooks, Stikkiclips, and Dust Muncher (a chalkboard eraser/ screen cleaner). I am excited to see who is going to win the next drawing. Whoever wins this drawing receives two boxes (your choice of levels) of writing prompts from Teacher Created Resources.
