"Our children need to understand that hatefulness, disobedience, bad attitudes, and disrespect begin in the heart." -- TOS™ Magazine
This month we have been spending a lot of time at the hospital with my mother-in-love. She is battling aggressive breast cancer. I have been reading Shepherding a Child’s Heart in my spare moments. Tedd Tripp reminds us that the Bible tells us that our heart controls our behavior. If we try and make our children obey without addressing the heart issue, we are failing in our training. Our children need to understand that hatefulness, disobedience, bad attitudes, and disrespect begin in the heart. As parents, it is our responsibility to teach our children that our hearts need to be in tune with the Lord. If we are not teaching our children to spend time in prayer, Bible reading, and Scripture memorization, their hearts will not be able to give forth the fruit of the Spirit. Shepherding a Child’s Heart gives parents the tools to effectively train their children from the inside out. This book is available from Shepherd Press, PO Box 24, Wapwallopen, PA 18660.
