I love the Psalms and I am always thrilled to find ways to teach them to my children. Imagine my delight when I read the beautiful book, Bless The Lord, by Johannah Bluedorn. I have long admired her parent's philosophy of education, including their advice to make the opportunity freely available for your children to create at will. Their philosophy has certainly paid off in the lovely and detailed paintings accompanying the 103rd Psalm. In a style similar to that of Tasha Tudor, another favorite of mine, each page lovingly depicts a quiet home life, the showing of hospitality and the appreciation of God's wonders in creation. Each time I read the book to my children I discover some detail I had missed, a profusion of tulips in a meadow or a favorite painting in the background.

This is a book we will never tire of reading, conveying what is good and lovely and true in every page. I am anxious to begin a collection of the marvelous books by this talented young artist.
