Raise your hand if you can name your state song, motto, tree, flower, and bird. Join the crowd if you can't. After finishing My State History Funbook, students age 3-10 (and their teaching parent) will not only know those items, but many other interesting facts about their state. The 30 lessons were easy for a 7 year old. A 3-5 year old will need a lot of parental help. Along with the study guide and student funbook, you will need free tourist literature from your state (contact information is provided), scissors, glue, and crayons.
This course is an enjoyable way for a younger student to study their state. If teaching young children together with older students, the Funbook lessons can correlate with State History from a Christian Perspective for grades 3-12.
