Champions of Discovery Series

I received three books from the Champions of Discovery series from Master books. Written from a Christian perspective, these short biographies of gifted people provide a nice overview for your young students. Some black and white pictures are included for the reader's enjoyment. The books can provide the launching pad for several good unit studies as each biography is somewhat longer than a textbook explanation. Just enough stimulating information is included to whet the appetite for further study and inspire your student to "take off" and explore some new learning adventures of their own! A short index at the end of each book provides for easy look-up of topics or person for quick reference.

Champions of Mathematics highlights: Pythagoras, Euclid, Archimedes, Leonardo Fibonacci, Issac Newton, the Bernoulli family, Leonhard Euler, and Carl Frederick Gauss.

Champions of Inventions features: John Gutenberg, James Watt, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Morse, Michael Faraday, Joseph Henry and Alexander Graham Bell, William Thompson and James Joule, Thomas Alva Edison, John Ambrose Fleming, and Charles Babbage.

Champions of Science includes: Nicolaus Copernicus, Aristotle, Galileo, Johannes Kepler, Rene Descartes, Archimedes, Blaise Pascal, Robert Boyle, Christiaan Huygens, and Christopher Wren.
