Inklings by Melanie M. Jeschke

Xulon Press is special. They do something really neat for new authors. Basically, you are almost self-publishing, but with their help. They say you can send your manuscript in and be a published author within 45 days (that means the books printed as well! They can print a 700-page book in 60 seconds)! This is good news to homeschoolers. Home educated kids tend to want to be published - and often times their parents do, too. Now there is a definite way. I would check out their website if I were you - an individual with a great idea for a manuscript or homeschoolers who want to publish - go see Xulon Press.

Here is one such book that was published by Xulon Press.

Inklings is a sweet story, set in the charming English college town of Oxford during the 60s. It weaves in the lives of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien (which, as a tremendous fan and admirer, I appreciated with delight!) throughout a story focusing on a young Christian college girl from America, and a young, yet older, English Christian college man, who both seek to serve God in the midst of longing for true love. With snares in both lives, a delicate story unfolds that shows the pitfalls of being "un-equally" yoked, and the grace of God who works things together in with His own timing as the two are led toward one another.

This would be enjoyed by a high school student or, perhaps even more, by a mom who needs a bit of a holiday in a pleasant, sweet book and to remember the joys of that "first quickening of love," and the dreaded delight of waiting upon God for that precious "one." I enjoyed it, and am looking forward to more in this series!

The fact that Melanie Jeschke is a homeschooling mother of nine made it even more delightful. (And inspiring, as well! Wow, where could she find the time?! I think I would like to read a book by her on time management and organization, because this lady obviously has it down!)
