I find it amazing that this excellent Mineral Collecting Kit was designed by a 12-year-old homeschool student. (Maybe I shouldn't since we all know how wonderful homeschoolers are!) Jessy Chekal became interested in geology and wanted to purchase a collecting kit. Since she was disappointed in all the kits she found, she decided to start making her own.
I've seen some of the rock and mineral collecting kits out there, and let me
tell you, they are not even in the same league as this kit! Jessy's kit does not contain tiny specimens glued to a card, but decent sized specimens in a neatly labeled little bag. The kit also includes a 200-item checklist for mineral collection, identification labels for specimens you acquire on your own, and a booklet describing rocks and collecting, plus a cool mystery bag with unlabeled specimens. You have to use your mineral detective skills to determine what the mystery specimens are.
Jessy is so enthusiastic about rock collecting and geology that she started a website for other kids interested in rock collecting. Get the kit and point your browser to www.rockhoundkids.com to start your rock and mineral collection today!
