Initially, I must admit I was not in a hurry to get this book read and reviewed. I was assuming these would be very teacher intensive and require a lot of time, which is one thing I don't have. Once I started, though, I was quickly reminded that Rick and Marilyn are parents of 14 kids and they don't have a lot of free time either.
There are 7 sections in the book: 1. Building Obedience, 2. Building A Pure Heart, 3. Building A Hunger, 4. Building Self-Acceptance, 5. Building a Forgiving Spirit, 6. Building Meekness, and 7. Building a Strong Testimony.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the ideas, though geared to young children as opposed to adolescents, can be used over years as the child grows. Even though my son is almost 10, I took note of a couple of suggestions I felt we could easily implement and others that we may tackle in the future without a lot of expense. As they say in the conclusion, "Do not make the mistake of trying to use them all in one year. Select a few that really appeal to you and use them with your children." This is a book you will want to refer back to over time.
