Dr. Ruth Beechick spent many years teaching children and teaching writing. Her book for junior high students and up is titled How to Write Clearly. Bonnie Neubauer is the creator of Story Spinner, a handheld generator of millions of creative writing exercises, the author of The Write-Brain Workbook: 366 Exercises to Liberate Your Writing, and the forthcoming follow-up book, Take Ten for Writers. When she is not running fun and funny workshops to motivate writers and help them keep up their momentum, she can be found in her home office inventing board games.
Susan K. Marlow is a twenty-year homeschooling veteran of four and the author of the Circle C Adventures series for "tweens" from Kregel Publications. She has taught in some form or another since receiving her degree from Washington State University. Susan combines her passion for teaching and writing by speaking at Young Authors conferences and teaching writing workshops to kids at homeschool co-ops and during school visits. Stephanie Reed is a Christian author who puts the story in history. She worked several years in the Dayton (Ohio) Metropolitan Library system. Stephanie wrote Across the Wide River and The Light Across the River, stories of one real-life Christian family's Underground Railroad station. Kim Kautzer, co-author of WriteShop®, loves to help parents feel more confident about teaching writing. A communications major in college, Kim has always enjoyed writing and speaking. She has team-taught homeschool unit studies and co-op classes for many years, including classes in history, geography, and composition. In addition, Kim and co-author Debbie Oldar offer workshops to equip, motivate, and encourage parents to teach writing at home. Kim and her husband Jim enjoy their empty nest in Alta Loma, California, where they began homeschooling in 1988. All three of their children are homeschool graduates. Two are married now, and the Kautzers have been blessed with six amazing grandchildren.
Sara Dobie is the Public Relations Coordinator for Sylvan Dell Publishing in South Carolina. Daniel Schwabauer, M.A., is editor of Crosswind Comics and creator of the One Year Adventure Novel writing curriculum. His professional work includes stage plays, radio scripts, short stories, newspaper columns, comic books, and scripting for the PBS animated series Auto-B-Good. His young adult novels, Runt the Brave and Runt the Hunted, have received numerous awards, including the 2005 Ben Franklin Award for Best New Voice in Children's Literature and the 2008 Eric Hoffer Award. He lives in Olathe, Kansas, with his wife and daughter.
Tami Fox is a homeschool mom of six children. She began homeschooling in 2000, and she has written three E-Books. She also operates a homeschool bookstore business from her home. She maintains a website, publishes a printed catalog, and attends homeschool conventions. She also writes an email newsletter. She has an extensive language arts background and has reviewed various published products.
Matt Daneker is a professional educator with more than fifteen years of experience. Matt currently serves as the Consumer Product Marketing Manager with Vantage Learning. In this capacity, he oversees the development of the MY Access!® suite of writing applications. Matt's previous responsibilities at Vantage include establishing the Vantage Essay Scoring Center and assisting in the development of IntelliMetric artificial intelligence scoring models. Matt has also held positions at the Princeton Review and Sylvan Learning. Matt holds a bachelor of arts degree in policy analysis from DeSales University, a master's degree in government from Lehigh University, and an MBA from DeSales University. He has plans to work toward a Ph.D. once his children enter college. Matt currently resides near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with his wife and two children.
Dr. Greg Strayer and his wife Debbie have been married for thirty years and are the parents of two successful homeschool graduates. They are two of the co-authors of the Learning Language Arts through Literature series and co-founders of Homeschooling Today® Magazine. Debbie speaks and writes for homeschoolers, and Greg is an Associate Professor of English at Trinity College of Florida. The Strayers make their home in Tampa, Florida.
