This is not your average piggy bank. It is the size of a basketball! Thus the name “Dream Pig,” with the premise that if you can save money in this bank, you can make your dreams come true.

It’s really amazing to open this product. They actually send you a huge yellow box with a huge pig nestled safely inside. The first step is washing your pig with dish soap and letting it air dry completely before you begin painting. Then you paint the pig according to your own creativity and imagination, personalizing it as you go. I put my 12-year-old daughter in charge of this project, and she had quite a few of us add our own special touches to it. Because the surface is so large, everyone in the family can have a little spot to decorate. When you’ve finished decorating the pig, bake it and you’re done.

The kit contains:
  • A step-by-step guide
  • 1 large piggy bank
  • 1 sheet of adhesive circle and alphabet stencils
  • 1 sheet of adhesive star and heart stencils (various sizes)
  • 9 paint pots
  • 1 paint tray
  • 4 triangular sponges
  • 1 black porcelain marker
  • 4 black felt circles

Completing the whole process does take a good chunk of time–perhaps even a few days. But it is well worth it. Not only did my daughter love the pig, she loved making it her own by painting and personalizing it. I was surprised at how cute it turned out! She is now planning on saving for, no, not a pig, but a horse with all of her savings!

Great product!
